2020 Holiday Photo Opportunities and Lights Celebrations in Phoenix and Avondale 

One of the easiest ways to get into the holiday spirit is by putting up holiday lights to glow every December night. Avondale and Phoenix are full of holiday lights celebrations and shows that locals can come out and enjoy this holiday season. In addition to light shows, Santa is making his rounds in Avondale this year for holiday photo opportunities. Avondale Winterfest 

When: December 5 – December 31 | 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. 
Where: Avondale Civic Center Complex | 11465 W Civic Center Dr, Avondale, AZ 85323 
Admission: Free 

This month-long winter fest is brings a full range of holiday fun and cheer to Avondale. Events during this year’s Winterfest include a nightly holiday music lights show, Santa letter collection, phone calls from Santa, and a home decorating contest. All events are free to enjoy.  

Phoenix Zoo ZooLights with Santa 

When: Now – December 23 | 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. 
Where: Phoenix Zoo | 455 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85008 
Admission: $20 per person 

Come out to the Phoenix Zoo to surround yourself with holiday wonder during this year’s ZooLights attraction. The Phoenix Zoo is offering nightly walks through a sea of holiday lights and Santa Claus is even stopping by for some fun. Guests can take a holiday photo with Santa and even drop a letter in Santa’s mailbox. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced for employees and guests.  

Winter Lights Spectacle 

When: December 12 | 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 
Where: Sun Valley Academy | 2675 West Baseline Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85041 
Admission: Free 

Enjoy a drive-thru light show at this year’s Winter Lights Spectacles. The event organizers are partnering with the Phoenix Rescue Mission to collect hygiene item donations to give to local neighbors in need.  

Light the Night 

When: December 13 | 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. 
Where: Century 21 Northwest Realty | 16040 N 59^th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85306 
Admission: Free 

Take a drive through a winter wonderland at this year’s Light the Night event. The Momentum Church and Century 21 Northwest Realty are partnering to bring a night full of holiday lights for locals around Phoenix and Avondale. This contact-free event is a great way to get out with the family and enjoy a night of holiday fun.
