Installing a Level 2 home charger requires a licensed electrician to run a dedicated 240V circuit to your garage or parking area. The process is straightforward for most homes, but there are a few factors that affect the scope and cost of the work.

Your electrician will start by assessing your home's electrical panel to confirm it has enough available amperage. From there, they'll factor in things like:

• How far the panel is from your garage

• Whether you want a hardwired charger or a plug-in unit

• IONIQ 5 (SEL, Limited, Long Range trims): 

• Overnight: approx 7.3 hours (8.4 kWh battery pack)

• Fast Charger 10 to 80 percent:  18 to 20 minutes

• IONIQ 9 (All Trims}:

• Overnight: 9.7 to 11.5 hours (110.3 kWh battery pack)

• Fast Charger 10 to 80 percent: 24 minutes (up to 200 miles)
